Mooring
Moorings are Concrete blocks, Helical augers, or other weighted anchors used to attach to chains or cables to a dock. These are most commonly used with floating docks, but can also be used to hold down standing docks when used to tie off boats or in large wave action areas.

Cons

Pipes
Docks can be anchored into the bottom with pipes, and driven into the ground via pounding, or drilled in via auger. This anchoring method is Ideal when used in shallow areas and soft bottom surface areas.

Cons
- Can only be used well in areas of lower water depth
- Unsightly tall pipes in tidal areas
